These are some simple steps you can opt for if you want to travel safe and in an economical way. These things can be opted by the group and even solo travelers.

1. Research about the place

As you have never traveled to a certain place you do not know about it and the best way to save money is to gather the information as much as you can. You can read blogs of visitopedia or you can watch videos of different youtube vloggers. The knowledge is your main tool which can help you from the fake people who want to take your money in the wrong ways and to plan the trip in the right way.

2. Take help from Locals

The second best way to get information about the place is to interact with the locals of that place. They could provide you that information which you might not find anywhere. As the blogs or vlogs you read or see is by some traveler who has visited the place once or twice but the locals have spent their whole life there. So no one can guide you better than them if you find the right person to guide you. The main thing is don't hesitate.

3. Pack Less

Pack less as you can. The lesser you take the lesser you drain. As if you have a lighter backpack you will feel less tired and more places you can visit in lesser time. There are some other benefits also as it will help you in hitchhiking because no one wants to give a lift to a person who takes a lot of baggage.

4. Make a habit of walking.

When you will take less luggage it will also help you to walk more. Don't bother if you have to walk for 2-3 km or even 4-5 km. It will help you save a lot of money. It is really helpful if you travel in a hilly area or where there are online cabs not available. By walking you can explore those things that you might miss while going in a vehicle.

5. Take Tips from people not doing the business

Take the tips from people who are not involved in the business. As an example, if you want to take the information about cheap cabs or cheap hotels you can ask people passing by or a person sitting on a general or Karayana store. This might sound silly but they could help you save a lot of money as they will not have a motive of earning from you on that very purpose.

6. Never Fight

Avoid the fights with other travelers and most importantly the locals specially when you are traveling alone. You will find shitty people. Not everyone will be good not everyone will be bad. Interact with the good become selfish with the bad.

7. Search for places where locals eat

Hitchhiking is the best way to save money. The main expense of traveling occurs on hotels and travel. By doing research you can save on hotels and with hitchhiking you can save on travel.

9. Go for a Hostel instead of Hotel

Hostels are available in almost all the travel destination. The difference between a Hostel and a Hotel is that in a hotel you will get a room full and in Hostel you will get a bed only and a locker facility might or might not be available. But it is way cheaper than the Hotel.

10. Become friendly with people

Even if you are an introvert try to befriend unknown people as people will help you with many things. They could help you with couch surfing and give some valuable advice to save money and many more. For example, when I went to the Taj Mahal in Agra, There were many shops who sell fake petha which was famous for Agra then the Locals told me about the real Petha shop.
