Day 1

I started my trip to Ludhiana. We took a train from Ludhiana to Haridwar which costs around Rs 170 for the sleeper class. There are many trains but Hemkunt Express is especially for the people going there. From Haridwar, we took a bus to Rishikesh which costs us Rs 40 per person. There are many Gurudwaras on the way and for all the pilgrims to stay and have Langar. For those who don't know about Langar, Langar is free food that is served in all the gurudwaras daily or occasionally.

As the train was early in the morning we reached Rishikesh in the afternoon. The gurudwara in the Rishikesh is walking distance from the bus stand so we just walked to the Gurudwara. At the gurudwara, we had to get us registered as the Gurudwara sahib have to send the data to the government of Uttrakhand. A point to be noted is that the stay and food are free at all the Gurudwaras. If a person wants he can book a paid AC room in the Gurudwara itself.
From Rishikesh, we booked a bus one day before as the bus starts at 5 o clock in the morning.
The charges for the bus were 600 per person.

Day 2

On day 2 we wake up at about 3 o clock got ready, bowed our head in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and got ready for the bus. We sat on the bus and it started at about 5:30 in the morning. Our bus took 14 hours to get to Gobind Ghat. The journey was tiring but amazing at the same time. You could even reach here in your own car, no issues on that.
At about 7:30 in the evening, we reached Gobind Ghat. There we take the slip where they wrote our place to sleep at night. We collected the blankets, as it was June and it was hot in Punjab But Quite cold in Uttrakhand. Don't forget to buy a stick here with pointed iron attached on one side as this pointed side helps to track snow-covered mountains. Then we went for sleep as the journey for the next day is on foot and is to be started early as well.

Day 3

It was 12 June and we woke up and get ready for the journey from Gobind Ghat. About first 4 km were traveled by Sumo and the price is fixed at Rs 30 per person. After we got out of the sumo we traveled the rest of the path by foot or we can say that trekking starts from here. The trek is of about 9 km and you can also travel it through pony and even the pitthu service is available for bags and people also.
The pony charges are from 800 to 2000 depending on the time and conditions. The trick is that just travel as early as you can. Because pony owners try to do trips as much as they can and in the morning they got ready for a lower price.
From Gobind ghat Helicopter service is also available, they charge near to 3000 per person per side till Gobind Dham. It's upon you how much you can spend and how much time do you have.
The trek goes like for 2-3 km it is an uphill trek then 2-3 km downhill trek and you then reach the river where you can enjoy Tea and even a meal.
The best part of the Trek is that you will find many people doing Sewa ( free service) on the way there. It might be of massage Sewa or black chickpeas Sewa and even people distribute some amount of glucose powder on the way which makes the way really spiritual and you will feel so calm by seeing the unconditional devotion of the people towards the God and people of God.
We reached there by the evening and stayed in the Gurudwara and had Langar.

Day 4

On the 4th day, this was the day of darshan (visit) to the Darbar Sahib. We started our trek At 4 o clock in the morning with many other devotees. The trek of this day is about 6 km and somewhat harder than the previous day. Ponies are available on this way also . They took from 700 to 1500 depending upon the conditions. The time we went as starting of June and at that time half of the way was clear and the upper half was covered by snow. Ponies take you to only up to the way from where snow starts, rest you have to do by yourself. We just went by foot all the way to Darbar sahib, the prices are just for your knowledge so that you can plan accordingly.
A special service is also available for the people who can't walk at all, a group of 4 persons took them in a chair type thing, lift the person on their shoulders and take them to Darbar sahib, they charge from 10000-15000 per person (don't know exactly)
The route was quite good with a soulful experience. The snow was a little bit slippery so take care of yourself also. After the glacier starts the way is divided into two parts, one is stairs part and the second is the plain path. It's your choice to take the path whichever you feel good.
Pilgrimage_to_Sri_Hemkunt_sahibAt about 10 AM we reached Darbar Sahib. A suggestion here, first take the bath if you want to then go to Joda Ghar to submit your shoes either your feet will be frozen.
Yes, I did this mistake, I submitted my Shoes first. The Sarovar(pond) was half-frozen, I took a bath in icy water, The thing is that when you bath in ice-cold water your body tries to fight the cold which even helps you to get rid of the tiredness.
The most amazing thing I found there is that Langar was available at that height also. Yes you read it right. It was langar of pulses and rice mixed known as khichdi and too really delicious.
Then we head back towards Gobind Dham and reached there by 3 PM.
Some people Trek back to Gobind Ghat the same day, it's upon you how much you could go.

Day 5

On day 5 we trek back to Gobind Ghat and just relaxed there the whole day. And in the evening we booked the bus for Rs 600 from the same travels and it took 14 hrs from Gobind Ghat to Rishikesh. From the Same day, we took the direct bus from Rishikesh to Ludhiana.

Day 6

We spent the night in the bus and reached Ludhiana by Morning.

Some Additional Information

You can take your vehicle till Gobind Ghat weather it is Car or Bike. There is a precaution for some persons that at the top due to less density of there some people could find some difficulty in breathing, Those type of people are not suggested to take bath and contact the doctor which is available at the Gurudwara. I Personally suggest you go on a Pilgrimage there you will find your body and mind limits. And find the inner peace there. The positive vibes will help You find the inner you.
