1. Pack the Right Clothes

The main thing while going on a hiking trip to a cold place is cloths. You have to pack light but the winter clothes are usually bulky and heavy to carry.
There are mainly 3 layers of clothes in cold hiking you can change the quality and quantity of layers according to the weather conditions.
A. The first layer consists of warmer which is to be worn first
B. Send layer is a nice warm sweater or t-shirt
C. Third and the main layer is of jacket or hoodie.
Go for a duck down feather jacket or a nice jacket that could bear minus temperatures.
And if you don't know about duck down jacket or any other just go to Decathlon showroom and buy a jacket on which it is written the temperature up to which it can bear like -10,-20,-30, etc.

2. Take Dry Fruits With You

Yes, Indian moms are always right. Take some dry fruits like raisins and dry dates etc they will provide instant energy and warmth.

3. Choose a Good Stick

While hiking takes a stick with you. Stick will not only give you support but will also help you walk. Choose a pointed one as it will penetrate into snow easily and give u the required grip while hiking.

4. Take Glucose Powder With You

Glucose powder is the best form of energy. You can take glucose powder or glucose pills also which could give you the necessary energy which is needed while hiking. It's best because it provides instant energy.

5. Choose The Right Shoes

If the place you are going to is full of ice then u need quite good quality shoes and prefer snowshoes which are specially made to make a good grip on snow. Not only it will provide you grip but also you will feel less tired as the energy that you will use to make a grip with slippery shoes will be saved and you can hike at a faster speed.

6. Choose a tent and sleeping bag wisely

If you are going on hiking and you have a plan for camping also then choose the tent and sleeping bag wisely after studying the average temperature of the place. Because these will be the things that will keep you warm and alive at night.

7. Carry water

It might seem childish to carry water in cold trek but it's as important as in trekking at a hot place because you will feel thirsty. And even if you don't drink a small amount of water at short intervals bcoz sometimes due to cold weather we might not feel thirsty but with sweat and body heat water excretes from the body and you need to fulfill that water.
